James Valbrun is a seasoned attorney with over 20 years of legal experience. He is a certified NBA player agent.  Throughout his career, he has showcased his comprehensive expertise in a diverse array of legal matters. He has achieved notable success representing both Fortune 500 companies, as well as individual plaintiffs in several complex cases.

James has effectively advocated for individuals and companies in various legal disputes, securing favorable outcomes in multi-million dollar claims. He was a member of the legal team that assisted one of the largest housing authorities in the nation in coming to a settlement on the longest-running, most expensive legal dispute in its history.  In addition to negotiating substantial settlements such as these, James routinely negotiates contracts, Name Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals and recording agreements as a regular part of his practice.

He is motivated by his personal observations of powerful, billion-dollar companies attempting to intimidate aspiring players and performers and has committed himself to safeguard his clients against such unfair treatment. He remains steadfast in his determination to guarantee that his clients receive their rightful piece of the pie, advocating fervently on their behalf.

James’s legal expertise has earned him recognition as a trusted commentator, appearing on prominent networks such as CNN Headline News and CourtTV. His reputation has garnered several honors, including being named a Georgia Super Lawyer, inclusion in Atlanta’s Business Who’s Who, and recognition as one of the National Trial Lawyers’ Top 100 Lawyers. Additionally, he was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the State Board of Juvenile Justice, showcasing his impact beyond the courtroom.

James obtained his law degree from Georgetown University and his undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan.  He had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Victoria A. Roberts in the Eastern District of Michigan at the federal level.
